ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Raoul Audhoe a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from Amsterdam.

I have over 20 years of Martial arts experience, and have been grappling for over 17 years. At 15 years old I started my martial arts journey with Capoeira. Since then I have trained in several martial arts including kickboxing, boxing, SHOOTO (MMA), BJJ and Sambo. After training MMA for 6 years and fighting several amateur fights, in 2016 I transitioned to solely training and competing in grappling arts. I have competed internationally in grappling tournaments and superfights in the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Italy, Germany, U.S.A. and Canada.
By early 2019, after being influenced by Priit Mihkelson (renowned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt instructor from Estonia) I started to train, develop and teach a more conceptual based approach to jiujitsu, relying less on specific techniques but rather focussing more on proper body posture and overarching concepts that can help obtain a tactical advantage on the mat.
In May 2023 I received my BJJ black belt from Priit Mihkelson.
My goal in grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is to one day have (almost) perfect posture in every position and to train, develop and teach a more conceptual based approach to grappling, relying less on specific techniques but rather focussing more on proper body structure and overarching concepts that can help obtain a tactical advantage on the mat.
I am happy to share my thoughts and ideas with you and hope you find my teachings useful for the development of your own game!
VIDEO'S
Check out these free videos where i display some of the concepts I am exploring and researching within jiujitsu and grappling
In this video I display the defensive postures as taught by
Priit Mihkelson during a Grappling Industries competition in Belgium. This was our (Priit and mine) attempt to challenge the 'do not turn your back' consensus is that is prevalent in BJJ. The goal was to display that with some training in the defensive postures turning your back (even in competition) is not necessarily a bad idea.
In this video I explain the concept of stacking to effectively nullify closed guard.
INSTRUCTIONALS
ATTACKING FROM TURTLE
For a long time the consensus in the grappling/BJJ community has been 'never turn your back'. In this instructional I aim to show that it is ok to turn your back as long as you have proper defensive posture in place. In fact I teach you how to prosper from the turtle position, turning what many view as an inferior position into a strong ATTACKING position!

What you'll learn from this instructional:
-
How to stay safe in the Turtle!
-
How to frustrate and annoy your opponents into making mistakes or going insane!
-
How and when to attack for leglocks, kimuras, armbars, and wristlocks from the Turtle!

THE NEW X-GUARD (COUNTER-PRESSURE HOOKS)
This instructional is ofter jokingly dubbed. 'X-guard for old lazy nerds'. It shows how to properly use your hooks, specifically the 'counter-pressure hook'. Counter-pressure hooks serve the purpose of a hook and a frame at the same time. This instructional teaches you how to use these hooks to control and off-balance your opponent, get superior angle and eventually set up your own attacks and sweeps.
